Apply Now: 2025 Florence Bamidele Makanjuola (FBM) Scholarship
The Opekete Foundation is proud to announce the opening of applications for the 2025/26 Florence Bamidele Makanjuola (FBM) Scholarship, a prestigious initiative dedicated to supporting the next generation of female Nigerian students pursuing careers in Nursing and STEM education.
In honour of Late Mrs. Florence Bamidele Makanjuola, a passionate educator and nurse, this scholarship continues her legacy of promoting self-reliance, quality education, and professional excellence among women in Nigeria. The FBM Scholarship provides up to ₦1 million annually to selected students in senior secondary schools and public universities.
Who Should Apply?
To be eligible for the FBM Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a female Nigerian citizen
- Be currently enrolled in or admitted to a public or federal government Senior Secondary School or University
- Intend to study or currently studying:
- Nursing, or
- Education in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Academic Requirements
For Secondary School Applicants
- Minimum of 5 Distinctions (A or B) in English, Mathematics, and any three core subjects in Junior WAEC (BECE)
For University Applicants
- Minimum of 5 Distinctions (A1–B3) in English, Mathematics, and any three major subjects in WAEC/NECO (one sitting)
- Must meet the JAMB cut-off score for the chosen course and institution
