Queen Mary University of London Sanctuary Scholarship 2025 (Fully Funded for Undergraduates)
The Queen Mary University of London offers the fully funded Sanctuary Scholarship for international undergraduate students who are asylum seekers or hold temporary immigration status due to an asylum claim. This scholarship covers full tuition fees and includes generous living cost support of up to £13,762 per year for those living independently. Funding is provided for the normal duration of your course.
This opportunity is open to students applying to degree programmes within the Faculty of Science & Engineering and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- Full tuition fee waiver
- £1,700 Queen Mary Bursary per year
- Living cost grant:
- £8,877 per year (if living in a parental home)
- £13,762 per year (if living independently)
Note: Funding covers the standard length of your course. If you need extra support due to a course change or repeat year, your case will be reviewed individually.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Queen Mary University of London Sanctuary Scholarship 2025, you must:
- Hold temporary immigration status awarded due to an asylum claim (e.g., limited leave to remain, discretionary leave to remain, humanitarian protection) or be an asylum seeker or the child of an asylum seeker.
- Be ineligible for funding from the Student Loan Company because of your immigration status.
- Have applied via UCAS for an undergraduate course in the Faculty of Science & Engineering or the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences by 29th January 2025, and received either a conditional or unconditional offer from Queen Mary University of London.
- Not already hold a qualification equivalent to or higher than the one you are applying for.
