The National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES), in collaboration with the Dr. Daniel Ejike Ewim Foundation, is excited to introduce its ₦2,000,000 Scholarship Program. This initiative supports aspiring engineers, scientists, medical doctors, pharmacists, and students in related fields, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing talent and advancing inclusivity in engineering and science worldwide.
2025 NIPES Undergraduate Scholarship Benefits
Total Scholarship Fund: ₦2,000,000
Number of Awards: 10
Amount per Recipient: ₦200,000
Duration: One academic year
Eligibility Criteria
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited higher institution.
Must be studying a science or engineering-related course.
Open to students in 100-level and above.
Mandatory Requirement: Applicants must complete at least one free NIPES online course and discuss the skills acquired in their personal statement.
Priority Consideration
NIPES student members will be given preference during the selection process.
Non-members are encouraged to join NIPES to enhance their chances of selection.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed based on:
NIPES student membership status
Quality and content of their personal statement
Demonstrated passion for the skills learned
Completion of at least one NIPES online course and explanation of acquired skills
Alignment with NIPES’s values and mission
Important Dates
Application Opens: February 1, 2025
Application Deadline: June 30, 2025
Final Selection: July 31, 2025
Additional Information
Successful applicants will be expected to participate in NIPES events and mentorship programs.
Application Selection Process
Step 1: Register as a NIPES Student Member (For Non-Members)
Sign up on the NIPES website to become a student member.
Step 2: Complete a Free NIPES Online Course
Enroll in and complete any free NIPES online course designed to enhance practical skills and creative thinking.
Upon completion, you will receive a certificate of completion, which must be referenced in your personal statement.
Step 3: Submit Your Personal Statement (500-750 Words)
Your personal statement must include:
Your educational background and journey
Passion for engineering, science, or a related field
Academic and extracurricular achievements
Challenges you have overcome
Career goals and how they align with NIPES’s mission
Skills gained from the NIPES course: Describe the skills acquired from the free NIPES course and how they contribute to your academic or career development.
Required Documents:
Proof of enrollment (student ID or admission letter)
NIPES membership number (if applicable).
