Google has opened applications for the 2025 Google Conference Scholarships for African students. This scholarship provides full sponsorship for university students to attend prominent conferences across the African continent.
The goal of the scholarship is to eliminate barriers preventing underrepresented groups in technology and business from participating in leading conferences. Eligibility requirements vary by region, so applicants are encouraged to review the specific information on the region-specific tabs above. Scholarships will be awarded to the most qualified candidates based on the application review.
All applicants will be notified of their application status according to the timeline specified for their region.
Google Conference Scholarship Requirements
To be eligible for the Google Conference Scholarships, you must:
- Be a full-time student enrolled at a recognized university in Africa, in need of travel funds for conference attendance.
- Have a paper accepted at a leading computer science conference, preferably in research areas of interest to Google. You can find a list of these areas at research.google.com.
- Be the sole or joint first author of the accepted paper.
Google Conference Scholarship Duration and Reward
The scholarship will fully cover the expenses for attending and presenting a paper at the conference, including:
- Conference registration.
- One round-trip airfare to and from the conference location.
- Hotel accommodation for the travel dates, as communicated directly with the accepted scholars.
- A $100 USD stipend for miscellaneous travel costs.
- Google swag.
Please note that applicants should not make their own travel or hotel arrangements, as these are included in the scholarship package and cannot be reimbursed.
