The University of Manchester is excited to offer over 330 scholarships to international students starting their studies in September 2025.
With a total scholarship value exceeding £4.5 million, these awards are available to students applying for both undergraduate and master’s degrees.
Established in 2004, the University of Manchester is a prestigious public research university, formed through the merger of the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) and Victoria University of Manchester.
Global Futures Scholarship 2025 Requirements
The Global Futures Scholarship 2025 is available to international fee-paying students from the following countries: Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Botswana, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
To qualify, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Residency: Applicants must have primarily resided in one of the listed countries for the past three years.
- Self-Funded: Applicants must be self-funded (not sponsored).
- Program Eligibility: Applicants for Medicine (MBChB), Dentistry (BDS), Architecture, or any course with an integrated foundation year are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Firm UCAS Choice: Applicants must select The University of Manchester as their FIRM UCAS choice by 23 May 2025.
- Previous UK Study: Applicants who have previously studied in the UK are not eligible.
- Full-Time Study: The award applies only to full-time courses at The University of Manchester’s UK campus in Manchester. Blended and distance learning programs are not eligible.
Undergraduate Requirements:
Applicants must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2025 and have, or be working towards one of the following qualifications:
- A-levels
- IB Diploma
- South African NSC or IEB
- NCUK International Foundation Year
Postgraduate Requirements:
Applicants must hold an unconditional offer for a full-time on-campus master’s course starting in September 2025 by 24 April 2025.
Applicants must submit an online scholarship application form by the same deadline. The form will be emailed to all eligible offer-holders.
Applicants for the following programs are not eligible:
MBA, MPhil, Master of Architecture (MArch), Architecture and Urbanism (MA), Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Clinical Medicine, and Dentistry degrees.

Undergraduate Awards
- The University of Manchester is pleased to offer over 100 merit-based undergraduate scholarships, each valued at £24,000.
- The scholarship is worth £8,000 per year for up to three years, provided the recipient maintains a 60% average each year.
- These scholarships will be applied as a discount on the published overseas tuition fees.
Master’s Awards
The University of Manchester is excited to offer over 230 merit-based master’s scholarships to international students from various countries.
Each scholarship is worth £15,000 and is awarded based on academic excellence and the quality of responses in the online application form.
Scholarships will be provided as a discount on the published overseas tuition fees.
How to Apply for the University of Manchester Global Futures Scholarship (Step by Step Guide)
To apply for the Global Futures Scholarships, interested and eligible applicants should follow these steps:
- Visit the Scholarship Webpage: Click on the button below to access the scholarship page.
- Apply for Admission: Apply for an undergraduate or master’s program at the University of Manchester.
- Receive the Application Form: Once an academic offer is made, the scholarship application form will be emailed to all eligible applicants. Please note that forms will be sent starting in December 2024.
- Meet the Requirements: Scholarship offers will be made by 21 June 2025, subject to the applicant meeting the academic performance conditions outlined in the full terms and conditions (linked below).
For Master’s Applicants:
- Applicants for the African awards must hold an unconditional offer for a full-time master's program at Manchester. They must also submit the online scholarship application form by 25 April 2025.
- The application form will only be available after the applicant has applied and received an offer.
- All successful applicants will be notified of the University’s decision by 30 May 2025.
