Women in News Global Leadership Accelerator Program 2025 | Now Open for Applications
The Women in News (WIN) Global Leadership Accelerator Program is now accepting applications for its impactful leadership development initiative, aimed at empowering passionate mid-level newsroom managers, including journalists and editors from emerging, transitional, and fragile states.
This high-impact, 21-week program is designed to build strong leadership skills in media management, while fostering a global peer network and supporting gender equality in the media industry.
Since its inception in 2015, the WIN Leadership Accelerator has supported over 1,500 journalists and editors, with 60% of graduates reporting career advancement—either through promotions or lateral career moves—within three months of completing the program.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the WIN Global Leadership Accelerator, applicants must:
- Have 5–10 years of direct newsroom experience as a journalist, reporter, correspondent, or editor
- Demonstrate a strong passion for journalism and a commitment to gender equality, inclusion, and press freedom
- Identify as a woman and/or be from a historically marginalized or at-risk community
- Reside outside the traditional WIN Accelerator markets
- Be proficient in spoken and written English (the program will be conducted primarily in English)
- Be available to commit 1–2 hours per week over the 21-week duration of the program
- Attend at least 80% of the program sessions to be eligible for successful completion
