Czech Republic Government Scholarship 2026
The Czech Republic Government Scholarship offers fully funded awards and monthly stipends to citizens of selected developing countries, enabling them to study at any public university in the Czech Republic.
Since the 1950s, more than 20,000 international students have completed their studies in the Czech Republic through this program. The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, travel expenses, and provides a living stipend of up to CZK 17,000.
This initiative is part of the Czech Republic’s foreign development cooperation program, jointly administered by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. The program is governed by Government Resolution No. 77 of 28 January 2019.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be citizens of one of these eligible countries: Nigeria, Guatemala, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, or Zambia.
- Citizens of other countries, as well as EU or Czech Republic citizens, are not eligible.
- For Master’s programs: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree.
- For PhD programs: Applicants must hold both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship is awarded for the standard duration of study and covers:
- Full tuition costs
- Monthly stipend:
- CZK 16,000 for Master’s students.
- CZK 17,000 for PhD students.
- Costs of accommodation, food, and public transport (paid from the stipend).

Travel expenses to and from the Czech Republic (covered by the nominating party or the student).

- Successful applicants will begin their studies in the 2026/2027 academic year.
