Durham University Inspiring Excellence Scholarship 2025/26 – Worth £10,000
Durham University is offering the Inspiring Excellence Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year, providing £10,000 tuition fee reductions to outstanding international students. A total of 85 scholarships are available for candidates applying to select one-year taught Master’s programmes starting in September 2025.
This scholarship is awarded as a direct deduction from tuition fees.
Eligible Master’s Programmes
Only applicants to the following seven programmes are eligible:
- MSc Advanced Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) – G5T709
- MSc Advanced Computer Science – G5T609
- MSc Law and Finance – M1KK09
- MSc Public Policy – L2KB09
- MSc Biotechnology – C2K109
- MSc Islamic Finance – N3KD09
- MSc International Business – N2PD09
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Durham University Inspiring Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be international students applying for September 2025 entry
- Apply for one of the seven eligible Master’s programmes
- Be self-funded, without other scholarships or sponsorships
- Meet or exceed the academic entry requirements for their selected programme
- Have received a conditional or unconditional offer from Durham University by the scholarship deadline
Selection Process
Applicants will be assessed based on:
- Academic excellence
- Potential for global impact
- Strength of the scholarship application
The selection process is competitive, and applications will be reviewed by Durham University’s scholarship committee.
Application Deadlines
1st Round
- Offer Deadline: 4 May 2025
- Scholarship Form Deadline: 30 April 2025 (midnight GMT)
2nd Round
- Offer Deadline: 8 June 2025
- Scholarship Form Deadline: 8 June 2025 (midnight GMT)
Note: If you miss the first round, you will automatically be considered for the second round—no need to reapply.

Award Duration
The scholarship covers one academic year, for the full duration of the eligible Master’s programme.
How to Apply
- Apply for one of the eligible Master’s programmes through Durham University’s online postgraduate portal.
- Receive a conditional or unconditional offer by the relevant round deadline.
- Submit the Inspiring Excellence £10K Scholarship Application Form by the applicable deadline.
