DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarship 2026 (Fully Funded | Study in Germany)
The German Government, through the DAAD Helmut Schmidt Programme, invites applications from talented graduates who aim to strengthen good governance and civil society structures in developing and emerging countries.
This fully funded scholarship covers all study, travel, and living costs — including an annual stipend of €11,904, accommodation, health insurance, and even family allowances where applicable.
The Helmut Schmidt Programme offers future leaders:

Eligibility Criteria for DAAD Helmut Schmidt Scholarship 2026
To qualify, you must:

Be a graduate from a developing or emerging country with a strong academic record (upper third).

Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Social or Political Sciences, Law, Economics, Public Policy, or Administration.

Be committed to contributing to the development of your home country or region.

Have relevant practical experience (e.g., professional roles, internships, volunteering, or political engagement).
Scholarship Benefits
If selected, you will receive:

€992 monthly stipend for living expenses in Germany.

Fully paid tuition fees for your Master’s degree.

Health insurance coverage in Germany.

Travel allowance to and from Germany.

Study and research grants.
-
Rent subsidy and family allowances (if applicable).

6-month mandatory German language course before starting your degree.
Note: For the Social Protection Master’s course (blended learning), you will receive €500 per month during the 4th semester, conducted online in your home country.

Single motivation letter (even if applying for two courses), explaining your academic and career goals.

CV in reverse chronological order (use the Europass format).

Certified copies of your degree certificates and transcripts (with translations if not in German/English).

Proof of relevant work experience, internships, volunteering, or political activity (with original or certified digital signatures).
