The Government of Taiwan is offering fully funded MOE Taiwan Scholarships to Nigerian students, encouraging them to pursue higher education at Taiwanese universities. This scholarship covers:

About the MOE Taiwan Scholarship
Granted by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE), this scholarship supports outstanding Nigerian students (excluding those from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau) to pursue degree programs at universities in Taiwan.
The scholarship covers a wide range of disciplines and aims to:

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the MOE Taiwan Government Scholarship 2025, applicants must:

Be a high school graduate or higher with an excellent academic record, good moral character, and no criminal history.

Be a citizen of Nigeria.
-
Not hold Republic of China (Taiwan) nationality.
-
Not be a Taiwanese Overseas Compatriot student.
-
Have never enrolled in Taiwan for the same degree level.
-
Not be an exchange student under any Taiwan-international university agreement.

Not have received a Taiwan Scholarship for more than five years in total.

Not have been previously disqualified from a Taiwan Scholarship.
-
Not be receiving any other Taiwan government-funded scholarship or subsidy.
Scholarship Benefits
The MOE Taiwan Scholarship provides:
Tuition & Fees – NTD 40,000 ($1,250 per semester).
Living Allowance:

Undergraduate – NTD 15,000/month ( $468)

Master’s – NTD 20,000/month ( $625)

Doctoral – NTD 20,000/month ( $625)
Scholarship Duration

Undergraduate – Up to 4 years

Master’s – Up to 2 years

Doctoral – Up to 4 years
Required Documents for Application
Applicants must submit the following:

Completed Taiwan Scholarship Application Form

Copy of Nigerian passport
-
Certified copies of diploma and transcript (If not in English or Chinese, provide an authenticated translation approved by a Taiwan representative office.)

Proof of university application – Copies of application fee payment, form, and acknowledgment receipt/email from the university.

Language proficiency proof:
For non all-English programs: TOCFL Level 3 or higher
For all-English programs: TOEFL or equivalent (if English is not the native language)
If applying for a non-listed English program, a university-issued document confirming the program is fully in English is required.

Two reference letters – From a principal, university president, professor, or supervisor (signed and sealed).

Signed Taiwan Scholarship Terms of Agreement.
