The Dalai Lama Trust Scholarship 2025 (Fully Funded for Tibetan Students)
The Dalai Lama Trust, through the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, is pleased to announce the 2025 Dalai Lama Trust Scholarship. This fully funded scholarship is designed to support Tibetan students in need of financial assistance to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies.

About the Scholarship
The Dalai Lama Trust Scholarship provides full financial support, including tuition and living expenses, to eligible Tibetan students. Funds are deposited directly into the recipient’s personal bank account (preferably with the State Bank of India - SBI).
Who Can Apply?
Undergraduate Applicants
Must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Academic Consistency: Strong overall academic performance, even if Class XII scores are low (requires Form B)
- Moral Character: Demonstrates honesty, responsibility, and good behavior (requires Form B)
- Family Hardship: Orphaned/semi-orphaned or financially disadvantaged (requires Form A and supporting verification)
Postgraduate Applicants
- Must have previously received the Dalai Lama Trust Undergraduate Scholarship
- Must submit complete undergraduate transcripts and certificates
- Must meet all general documentation requirements (Green Book, Registration Certificate, etc.)
Common Eligibility Criteria (All Applicants)
- Valid Green Book (with contributions made up to March 31, 2024)
- Valid Registration Certificate (RC)
- Applicants from Nepal, Bhutan, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, or Gangtok must provide refugee verification from the local Tibetan Settlement Officer
- Must not be receiving any other scholarships
- Gap year students must provide an explanation in their application
Scholarship Benefits
- Full funding for tuition and living expenses
- Direct bank transfer of funds to the student’s personal account (preferably SBI)
- Support throughout the duration of the academic program (as long as eligibility is maintained)
Scholarship Duration
- Undergraduate programs: Minimum 3 years
- Postgraduate programs: Typically 2 years

Applications are reviewed based on:
- Financial need
- Academic consistency
- Character and personal background
- Proper submission of required documents and forms (Form A and/or Form B)
