The University of Nottingham is offering the Africa Postgraduate Excellence Award to support high-achieving international students from Africa. This award is designed to assist students who have demonstrated academic excellence and a strong passion for their chosen field of study.
The scholarship provides a contribution ranging from £4,000 to £8,000 towards the full-time master's tuition fees for eligible students from Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be domiciled in Africa
- Be classified as an overseas student for fee purposes
- Hold an offer to begin a full-time master’s degree (including MRes) in any subject area at the University of Nottingham UK in September or October 2025
- You may also be eligible to apply for the Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship. You can apply for both scholarships, but you will not receive both awards.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed based on their responses to questions about:
- Academic achievements
- Study plans
- Reasons for choosing the University of Nottingham
- Make sure to take the time to prepare thoughtful and strong answers, as both your responses and academic merit will be considered when making scholarship decisions.
Eligible Countries
- This scholarship is open to students from African countries.
Value of the Award
- The £4,000 scholarship will be applied directly to your tuition fees at the University of Nottingham. Please note, the scholarship amount will be deducted from your tuition fees, and it will not be paid to you directly.
How to Apply
- Apply for and receive an offer to study a full-time master's degree (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham before applying for this scholarship. You can explore available courses and application details.
- If you have an offer for a taught master's course, you can submit your scholarship application through the MyNottingham application system.
- If you have an offer for an MRes course, please email the scholarships team at scholarship-assistant@nottingham.ac.uk for instructions on how to apply.
