The University of Twente Scholarships (UTS) are now open to outstanding international students from around the world who wish to pursue a Master’s degree in the Netherlands.
This prestigious scholarship is available to students from both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries applying for a graduate (MSc) program at the University of Twente. Selected candidates will receive a financial award ranging from €3,000 to €22,000 for one academic year, as compensation for study-related expenses.

University of Twente Scholarship 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the University of Twente Scholarship (UTS), applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Admission Requirement: You must first apply for and receive a provisional admission letter to a postgraduate Master’s program at the University of Twente.
- Student Number: You must have a University of Twente student number at the time of application.
- UT Alumni Status: You must not be a current or former UT undergraduate student (i.e., you should not have earned your Bachelor’s degree from UT).
- Visa Eligibility: You must meet the requirements for obtaining a Dutch entry visa (if applicable).
- English Language Proficiency:
- Minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT score of 90)
- Minimum speaking subscore of 6.0 (or TOEFL iBT speaking score of 20)
(This requirement is waived for applicants from English-speaking countries.)
- Loan Status: You must not be eligible for a Dutch study loan.
- Academic Excellence: You must belong to the top 5–10% of your class, as this scholarship is awarded based on merit.
Scholarship Duration and Benefits
- Award Value: Recipients will receive between €3,000 and €22,000 for one academic year.
- This amount serves as a contribution toward study-related expenses, and recipients may use it at their discretion.
Renewal for Two-Year Programs
If you're enrolled in a two-year Master's program, you may be eligible for a second UTS award (equal to the first-year amount), provided you meet the following performance criteria:
- Maintain an average grade of 7 out of 10 by the end of the third quartile of the first year.
- Successfully complete at least 50% of your European Credits (ECs) by the same point.
Note: Additional scholarships may be available exclusively for UTS recipients starting their program in September.

Receive (Conditional) Admission
Once your application is successful and you receive a (conditional) admission letter, you will be assigned a student number.
