University of York GREAT Scholarship 2025 — Now Open!
The University of York GREAT Scholarship 2025, in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, is now accepting applications! This prestigious scholarship offers international students the chance to pursue a one-year postgraduate degree in the UK with financial support of £10,000 towards tuition fees.
York is offering 5 scholarships for students from select countries, providing an incredible opportunity to experience world-class education in one of the UK’s top universities.
Eligible Countries for the University of York GREAT Scholarship 2025:
- China
- Ghana
- Nigeria (only for selected Law and Human Rights programs)
- Pakistan
- Thailand
- Turkey
Note: Nigerian applicants are eligible only if applying for specific postgraduate Law or Human Rights courses (listed below).
Eligible Courses for Nigerian Applicants:
- LLM Law
- LLM Art Law
- LLM International Corporate and Commercial Law
- LLM International Human Rights Law and Practice
- LLM Legal and Political Theory
- MA Applied Human Rights
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, you must:
- Hold citizenship from one of the eligible countries listed above
- Be classified as an overseas fee-paying student
- Have satisfied any English language requirements by 16 May 2025
- Hold a conditional or unconditional offer to study a one-year taught postgraduate course at the University of York by 16 May 2025 (you do not need to have accepted it yet)
- Be willing to act as an ambassador for the University of York and the British Council’s GREAT Scholarship scheme
Note: This scholarship can be combined with other external funding, provided the combined amount does not fully cover 100% of your tuition fees.
