Zhengzhou University President Scholarship for International Students
To foster international collaboration and attract outstanding international students, Zhengzhou University (ZZU) proudly offers the President Scholarship. This scholarship supports talented international postgraduate students, particularly those pursuing doctoral degrees.
About the Scholarship
The Zhengzhou University President Scholarship is intended to fund full-time Master’s and Doctoral degree studies at ZZU. The scholarship duration ranges from 3 to 4 years, depending on the length of the academic program.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

Be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health, with no criminal record.

Comply with the laws of China and regulations of Zhengzhou University.

Demonstrate strong academic performance and a positive attitude toward learning.

Meet the following academic and age requirements:

Master’s Program: Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent; be under 35 years old.

Doctoral Program: Hold a master’s degree or equivalent (Pakistan applicants: 18-year master’s); be under 45 years old.
5. Meet language proficiency requirements:

Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 5 with a score of 210 or above.

English-taught programs:
-
IELTS 6.5 or equivalent if from a non-English speaking country.

Other proof of English proficiency accepted if IELTS/TOEFL is unavailable.
Note: Students currently benefiting from other scholarships (e.g., Chinese Government Scholarship, Confucius Institute, or funding from any foreign or Chinese entity) are not eligible.
Scholarship Benefits

Master’s Degree: Full or partial tuition coverage

Doctoral Degree: Full tuition, accommodation, and monthly stipend
Note: Registration fees, medical check-ups, thesis defense fees, textbooks, insurance, residence permits, and other personal costs are not covered and must be paid by the student.
How to Apply
Applicants must complete the ZZU President Scholarship Application Form and submit the following supporting documents:

Highest academic certificate (original or notarized), with translation if not in English or Chinese.

Academic transcripts:

Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s transcripts

Doctoral applicants: Bachelor’s and Master’s transcripts

Study or research plan:
-
Master’s: Minimum 800 words
-
Doctorate: Minimum 2000 words

Two recommendation letters from associate professors or professors (in Chinese or English)

Additional documents for Art-related programs (as per ZZU requirements)

Official language proficiency results (Chinese or English)

Foreigner Physical Examination Form and blood test reports (in Chinese or English)

Certificate of no criminal record (original or notarized with English/Chinese translation)

Proof of current student or employment status, if applicable
Applications must be submitted directly to Zhengzhou University via their scholarship application portal or designated email (refer to official university guidelines).
