Six months Employment followed by a 3 Year Residency
The position: This is a Residency position in a training Programme approved by the European College of Veterinary Internal medicine tenable for 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory annual review of progress. It will incorporate a fixed term scholarship working towards a taught Masters in Veterinary Science during the last 3 years of the residency. The main role of the post-graduate student will be to join a team that provides the referral service in canine and feline internal medicine. You will receive training in all aspects of internal medicine including emergency and critical care medicine, and will be expected to study for the postgraduate ECVIM Diploma in Internal Medicine. Residents will be involved in clinical work and clinical research and will be expected to submit for publication manuscripts based on their research work during the programme. The MSc in Veterinary Science will develop your clinical research skills and enhance universally important skills such as scientific writing, critical reading and statistical analysis of data. You will also contribute to undergraduate teaching as part of the undergraduate medicine clinical rotation.

Candidate requirements:Â The Resident will be expected to undertake informal group teaching of undergraduate students undertaking rotations and a small amount of formal teaching. The position carries responsibilities for out of hours care of hospitalised patients and emergency first opinion and referral cases on a rota basis.
You must be a member or eligible to become a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons with at least 2 yearâs experience in practice or 1 year in a recognized internship.
