UNILAG Commonwealth IRDC PhD Scholarship 2025 (Fully Funded for AI Research in Africa)
The University of Lagos (UNILAG), in collaboration with the Nigeria AI Lab (NAIL) and funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Canada and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), is offering two fully funded PhD scholarships under the AI for Education project.
This prestigious opportunity—the UNILAG Commonwealth IRDC PhD Scholarship—focuses on developing AI-powered personalized learning assistants for underserved, low-connectivity learning environments across sub-Saharan Africa.
About the Scholarship
Hosted by the Department of Computer Science, UNILAG, this scholarship provides selected candidates with the platform to conduct impactful AI research aimed at transforming education across the continent. Scholars will benefit from academic mentorship, research exposure, and collaboration with leading educational stakeholders across Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
