University of Idaho Graduate Scholarship 2025 – Fully Funded Research Opportunity
The University of Idaho is now accepting applications for a fully funded Graduate Research Assistantship for both domestic and international students. About the Scholarship
The selected candidate will be enrolled in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Department of Animal, Veterinary and Food Sciences, and will be based at the Nancy M. Cummings Research, Extension and Education Center (NMCREEC).
This position comes with:

The role involves leading a team of graduate students and seasonal technicians, collaborating with cattle producers, and engaging regularly with researchers, scientists, and state/federal land management agencies.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the University of Idaho Graduate Scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold a Master’s degree in a related field (completed within 3 months of the start date)
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Be detail-oriented, with a solid work ethic and a valid driver’s license
- Be willing to conduct field research under remote and variable weather conditions
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- A passion for the livestock and rangeland industries
- Experience in vegetation monitoring, livestock handling, ag tech, or geographic mapping (e.g., ArcGIS, onX)
- A track record of publications, grant writing, or presenting research to academic or industry audiences
- Practical experience in:
- Rural/ranching environments
- Operation of ATVs, UTVs, 4WD vehicles
- Towing trailers
