Who Can Apply – Eligibility Criteria for Rhodes Global Scholarship 2026
To be considered for the Rhodes Global Scholarship 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Nationality:
- You may apply only if you are not eligible to apply through an existing Rhodes constituency.
- If you have a strong connection to an existing constituency but do not meet its criteria, consider applying under inter-jurisdictional consideration rather than the Global Scholarship.
2. Age:
Applicants must satisfy one of the following age requirements:
- Standard applicants: Born between 2 October 2000 and 1 October 2007 (ages 18–24).
- Medical students (with compulsory internships): Born between 2 October 1999 and 1 October 2007 (ages 18–25).
- Late undergraduate degree holders: Born after 1 October 1998, and must have completed their undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2024.
Note: Final eligibility decisions are made by the National Secretary in ambiguous cases.
3. Academic Qualification:
- Must have completed or be due to complete an undergraduate degree by July 2026.
- Applicants must meet or exceed the academic entry requirements for their chosen course at Oxford.
- A First Class Honours degree or a GPA of 3.70/4.0 or above is typically expected.
Scholarship Benefits
The Rhodes Global Scholarship 2026 covers:
- Full tuition fees for any graduate course at Oxford.
- Annual stipend of £19,800 (£1,650/month) for living expenses.
- Visa application fees and International Health Surcharge (IHS) for NHS access.
- Two economy-class flights – to and from the UK at the start and end of studies.
- Application fee waiver for the University of Oxford.
Note: The stipend is intended for the scholar only and does not cover dependents or family members.
