Fully Funded Master’s Scholarship at the University of Maryland (Spring 2026)
The University of Maryland Master’s Scholarship is a fully funded graduate teaching assistantship open to both domestic and international students. This opportunity is available in the Che Lab, within the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences, and will begin in Spring 2026.
The selected MSc student will receive full tuition coverage, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and access to research and academic support services.
About the Position
The successful applicant will be supervised by Dr. Sunch Che, Assistant Professor of Poultry Graduate Management.
The research focus includes improving the health and biosecurity of backyard and small-flock poultry.
As a graduate researcher, your responsibilities will include:
Designing surveys using Qualtrics
Analyzing survey data
Creating fact sheets and infographics
Writing and submitting manuscripts for publication
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must meet the following:
Academic Requirements:
Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, or related field
English Proficiency (International Applicants):
IELTS: Overall score of 7.0 (Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 7, Speaking 7.5)
TOEFL iBT: Total score of 95 (Listening 24, Reading 26, Writing 24, Speaking 24)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Strong communication (written and verbal)
Scientific literature review and analysis
Data organization and project management
Experience working with livestock, especially broiler chickens
Proficiency in IT or Python (preferred)
Research publications or conference presentations (preferred)
