University of Oxford AfOx Visiting Fellowship Program 2025 (Fully Funded for African Researchers)
The African Oxford Initiative (AfOx) Visiting Fellowship Program is now open for applications! This prestigious program, offered in partnership with key departments at the University of Oxford, UK, is designed to support outstanding African researchers in building global networks and advancing their research through collaboration with Oxford scholars.
The program provides African researchers with the opportunity to work on a project of their choice while benefiting from Oxford’s world-class resources and academic environment.
The AfOx Catalyst Grants also offer seed funding to kickstart collaborative research between African institutions and the University of Oxford.

Program Structure
-
Fellows will be affiliated with Oxford University for 12 months.

Includes 10 months of virtual engagement and a 2-month in-person residency in Oxford (between April and June 2025, during Trinity Term).

Fellows will be attached to both a Department and a College within the University.
Eligibility Criteria (2025)
To be considered, you must:

Be a national of an African country or hold indefinite leave to remain in an African country.

Hold a position at an African university or research institution and reside legally in the host country.
