The AUC African Graduate Fellowship is a competitive program designed for bright and highly motivated African students who wish to pursue a master’s degree at The American University in Cairo (AUC).
This fully funded fellowship covers tuition, living stipend, accommodation, as well as medical services and health insurance fees. The fellowship is awarded for a maximum of five semesters, with an additional summer session, and is subject to a review each semester to ensure satisfactory academic performance.
Each year, fellowships are offered to nationals of African countries (excluding Egypt) for full-time study, requiring nine credits or as specified by the chosen graduate program at AUC.
For the Counseling Psychology graduate program, the fellowship duration may be extended to a maximum of seven semesters.
Requirements for the 2025 American University in Cairo Graduate Fellowships
To be eligible for the American University in Cairo Graduate Fellowships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a non-Egyptian African national.
- African nationals with dual non-African nationality are not eligible.
- Open to all graduate study disciplines.
- For new graduate students, applicants must be admitted to one of AUC's graduate programs, meeting the university’s admission requirements.
- Submit an International TOEFL iBT score or an academic IELTS score, meeting AUC’s graduate admission cut-off scores.
- Continuing students must maintain a GPA of 3.2 to retain the fellowship.

Tuition fees for a maximum of nine credits per semester.
