Value of Scholarship
Full Scholarship, 1,200 € per month & Health Care Allowance
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Scholarship Programme in Germany is dedicated to supporting young talent, staying true to its founding principles. Scholarship recipients receive a monthly stipend of 934 EUR, along with health insurance coverage. Additionally, scholars with children are eligible for a monthly allowance of 160 EUR.
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Scholarship supports students across all academic disciplines. It is open to those studying at public or state-approved universities, universities of applied sciences, and polytechnic colleges, including postgraduate programs.
Eligible applicants come from the Global South (Asia, Africa, Latin America), post-Soviet states, and Eastern and Southeastern European (EU) countries.
Students from any field of study can apply if they:

Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for the FES Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Languages Required: English / German

Eligible Countries: Talented students from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe

Must demonstrate academic excellence and strong potential for an academic or professional career.

Must be admitted or enrolled at a state or state-recognized higher education institution in Germany.

German language proficiency is required, even if courses are conducted in English.

Must be committed to the values of social democracy.

Should have above-average academic performance in school or university.

Scholarship Benefits:
International scholarship recipients will receive:

934 EUR per month (Basic Scholarship Program)

1,200 EUR per month (Graduate Scholarship Program)

276 EUR family allowance (if applicable)

Health care cost reimbursement

Income exceeding 400 EUR per month will be deducted from the scholarship.
