German Government DAAD EPOS Scholarships 2025 for International Students
The German Government, through the DAAD EPOS Scholarships, offers outstanding foreign graduates from developing and newly industrialized countries the opportunity to pursue postgraduate or Master’s degrees at state or state-recognized universities in Germany. In exceptional cases, the scholarship also supports doctoral studies.

Eligibility Requirements for the 2025 German Government DAAD EPOS Scholarships
To be considered for the DAAD EPOS Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be employed by a public authority, state institution, or private company in a developing country and engaged in planning and executing projects with a focus on development policies in technological, economic, or social sectors.

Hold a Bachelor’s degree (typically a four-year program) in a related field.

Have completed their academic degree with well above-average results (top third of their class) and possess at least two years of relevant professional experience after obtaining their first degree (Bachelor’s).

Have academic degrees that are generally no more than six years old.
-
Applicants must not have resided in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.
Benefits of the DAAD EPOS Scholarships

Monthly stipend of 934 euros for Master’s students and 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates.

Contributions towards health, accident, and personal liability insurance.

Travel allowance, unless these costs are already covered by the applicant’s home country or another funding source.
Required Documents for the 2025 DAAD EPOS Scholarships
Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:

Completed and signed Checklist (provided by DAAD).

DAAD application form ("Application for a Research/Study Scholarship") — must be typed or clearly handwritten.

Curriculum Vitae (CV) — in reverse chronological order without gaps, using the Europass template, including detailed information about academic and practical experiences.

Letter of Motivation — providing detailed academic, professional, and personal reasons for applying.

Certificates of Employment — from employers verifying at least two years of relevant professional experience after the Bachelor's degree. Where possible, include a guarantee of re-employment upon return to the home country.

Proof of Language Proficiency:

English: IELTS or TOEFL (Institutional TOEFL is not accepted).

German: Required for courses taught in German.

Copies of higher education degree certificates.

Full transcripts of academic records.

Applicants from the People’s Republic of China must also submit an APS Certificate.
