Government of Colombia Foreign Scholarship 2025/2026 — Fully Funded Opportunity
The Government of Colombia is now accepting applications for the 2025/2026 Colombia Foreign Scholarship — a fully funded program open to international students from all countries. This scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, living stipends, travel expenses, visa fees, and an additional COP 250,000 to help with the issuance of the Foreign Identification Card.
The program is designed for foreign nationals who wish to pursue postgraduate studies (specialization, master’s, or doctoral degrees) in Colombia. It also supports students from non-Spanish-speaking countries who need to strengthen their Spanish before starting their academic programs.
Types of Applications Available:
- For foreigners pursuing postgraduate degrees (specialization, master's, or doctorate) at public or private Colombian universities.
- For foreigners from non-Spanish-speaking countries seeking Spanish language training alongside their postgraduate studies.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a foreign citizen (non-Colombian).
- Not currently reside in Colombia or have lived there in the past 6 months.
- Not have started studies in Colombia before applying.
- Provide a Certificate of Migratory Movements upon selection (dated within 30 days of entering Colombia).
- Not be married to, or in a partnership with, a Colombian citizen.
- Not have previously received an ICETEX scholarship through the Beca Colombia program.
- Be under the age of 50.
- Have an undergraduate GPA equivalent to 4.0 out of 5.0 on the Colombian grading scale.
- Hold a professional, undergraduate, or graduate degree.
- Have admission to 1-3 postgraduate programs listed in the 2025-2 Academic Offer Catalog.
- Be in good physical and mental health, certified by a medical professional.
Scholarship Benefits
The Government of Colombia Foreign Scholarship covers:
- Full tuition (paid by the host university)

- Monthly living stipends from ICETEX
- Installation allowance upon arrival in Colombia
- Support for books and study materials
- COP 250,000 stipend to cover the cost of the Foreign ID card

- Letter of pre-admission or final admission from a Colombian university
- Academic recommendation letter
- Certified undergraduate/graduate transcripts
- Personal statement (essay)
- Health and medical certificate
- Proof of professional experience
- CV or resume
- Copy of a valid passport
