Formally known as the WA Cooke, Jane Cooke, and Alfred Godfrey Scholarship, this opportunity is designed to foster academic excellence and support groundbreaking legal research at one of Australia's top law schools.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the 2026 University of Sydney Law School Scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold an unconditional offer of admission to study full-time in one of the following programs:
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
- Master of Criminology (MCrim) (Research)
- Master of Laws (LLM) (Research)
- Be committed to conducting research within the field of law.
- Hold one of the following qualifications in Law:
- An Honours degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) or equivalent
- A Master's degree by research
- A Master's degree by coursework with a High Distinction or Distinction, including a research component (equivalent to 25% of one year’s full-time study)
- A law degree combined with research or professional experience equivalent to First Class Honours
Note: Preference is given to new students. However, exceptional continuing students currently enrolled full-time in a PhD, MCrim (Research), or LLM (Research) program may also be considered based on research excellence and thesis progress.
