2017 MSc Studentship: Resident in Equine Sports Medicine

The position 

We are offering a three year residency in Equine Sports Medicine. The programme is designed that the resident obtains all necessary credentials to sit the diploma examination of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation within a taught MSc in Veterinary Science programme. Residents will be involved in clinical work and clinical research and will be expected to submit for publication manuscripts based on their research work during the programme. The resident will be actively involved in the provision of sports medicine clinical services (both musculoskeletal aspects of sports medicine and medicine/exercise physiology aspects of sports medicine). There are several internal rotations (surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, neurology, pain management) and considerable opportunity for external rotations/specialised training. The MSc in Veterinary Science will develop your clinical research skills and enhance universally important skills such as scientific writing, critical reading and statistical analysis of data. The primary supervisors for this scholarship are Dr Evita Busschers and Dr Kate Allen.

Candidate requirements: The Resident will be expected to undertake informal group teaching of undergraduate students undertaking rotations and a small amount of formal teaching. The position carries responsibilities for out of hours duties on a 1:4 basis. 

You must be a member (or eligible to become a member) of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons with 1 year in a recognized internship. You must satisfy the English Language requirements for the Masters in Veterinary Science program (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/study/language-requirements/profile-a/).
