Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship 2025
The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship is a fully funded, individually tailored leadership development programme designed to transform cultural practice and engagement by enhancing leadership potential, strategic insight, and professional skills.
A collaboration between the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Clore Leadership, this fellowship offers mid-career professionals in the arts and culture sector an exceptional opportunity to immerse themselves in a unique learning experience in the UK.
Running from September 2024 to May 2025, the programme combines a flexible framework with self-guided learning, empowering participants to take ownership of their growth. It is highly adaptive, designed to equip outstanding cultural leaders with the tools, confidence, and networks needed to create meaningful impact in their careers and communities.
Fellows join a network of some of the most innovative and dynamic cultural leaders from the UK and around the world, benefiting from in-depth, personalised training tailored to individual aspirations, needs, and circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for the 2025 Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship must:
- Be a citizen of one of the following countries: Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, or South Africa.
- Intend to return to their country of selection after the fellowship.
- Hold a degree equivalent to at least a UK second-class honours degree or possess equivalent professional training/experience.
- Have completed a minimum of five years’ work experience (or equivalent) by the end of 2023.
- Meet the minimum Chevening fellowship requirements.
- Have a strong command of English, demonstrated in the application and at interview if shortlisted.
- Not hold British or dual British citizenship.
- Not be an employee, former employee, or relative* of an employee of His Majesty’s Government or any of its agencies within the last two years of the application opening date (this includes the FCDO, British Embassies/High Commissions, Home Office, Ministry of Defence, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Department for International Trade, UKVI, the British Council, sponsoring UK universities, or the Association of Commonwealth Universities).
Fellowship Benefits
The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship provides:
- Full funding for travel, accommodation, living expenses, and related costs.
- Up to two return economy flights from your home country to the UK.
- Accommodation and living costs while in the UK.
- A 4–6 week secondment at a UK cultural institution.
- A customised Fellowship Learning Plan, which may include participation in UK-based courses, conferences, and professional development programmes.
- Coverage of course, conference, and training fees within the UK.
- Support for UK domestic travel related to fellowship activities.
