Lateef Jakande Fellowship Program 2025 for Young Nigerian Graduates
The Lagos State Government has officially opened applications for the Lateef Jakande Leadership Fellowship Program 2025, a fully funded, one-year initiative designed to empower exceptional young Nigerian graduates.
This prestigious fellowship offers a transformative, non-partisan, and merit-based leadership experience, giving participants the rare opportunity to engage directly with governance at the state level. Fellows will:

Gain hands-on exposure to the workings of the Lagos State Government.

Participate in interactive roundtable sessions with influential leaders across public and private sectors.

Take part in policy immersion trips, both within Nigeria and abroad.
Launched by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Lateef Jakande Fellowship is committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders by equipping them with critical leadership skills, real-world public service experience, and mentorship to inspire ethical and impactful leadership in Nigeria.
Eligibility Criteria for the Lateef Jakande Fellowship Program 2025
To be eligible for the Lagos State Fellowship Program, applicants must:

Be a Nigerian citizen

Be under the age of 35

Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution

Have completed the NYSC program or possess a valid exemption certificate

Have a minimum of three years’ work experience
Fellowship Duration and Benefits
The Lateef Jakande Fellowship is a one-year, fully funded leadership program that offers a rich blend of learning, service, and practical experience, including:
Government Work Experience
Fellows will shadow Lagos State Cabinet Members, rotating roles after six months, providing firsthand insight into state-level governance and policy-making.

Community Service

Graduates of the program will join a diverse and dynamic alumni network focused on unity, shared purpose, and national development. This network offers continued learning, peer mentoring, and collaborative opportunities.
