2025 Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program (Fully Funded for Graduate Study)
Applications are now open for the 2025 ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) — a prestigious, fully funded opportunity for graduate studies in economics, business and management, science and technology, law, public policy, and other development-related fields.
Each year, about 135 scholarships are awarded to talented students from developing member countries of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to pursue postgraduate studies at top institutions across 10 countries in Asia and the Pacific.
The scholarship covers everything:

Books and learning materials

Additional grants for thesis preparation and special courses
Established in 1988 with funding from the Government of Japan, this program is designed to equip future leaders with the knowledge and skills to drive development back home.
Eligibility Criteria for ADB-JSP 2025
To qualify, you must:

Be a citizen of an ADB borrowing member country (eligible countries list available).

Not hold dual citizenship with any developed country.

Have secured admission to an approved master’s program at a Designated Institution.

Hold a bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
-
Have at least 2 years of full-time professional work experience (after your bachelor’s degree).

Be under 35 years old at the time of application (some exceptions possible).
-
Be proficient in English (both written and spoken).
-
Be in good health.
-
Commit to return to your home country and work there for at least 2 years after graduation.

Not be an employee (or close relative) of ADB staff, nor staff of participating institutions.

Not currently living or working outside your home country.

Not already enrolled in a graduate program.
